Miguel says:

“Allow me to introduce my most charismatic creation: a flamenco guitar named La Chula, meaning “To Be Sassy,” crafted entirely from top-tier Master-grade materials. The soundboard is made of Canadian Red Cedar, boasting exceptionally fine, straight, and tight grain lines. The back and sides are constructed from Royal Cypress, the highest quality standard, featuring stunning mineral veining and perfectly parallel, fine growth rings. The back is crafted from two impeccably matched pieces, giving the appearance of a single, seamless surface, with no central ornamentation to distract from its uniform beauty.

The bindings are made of Koa wood, harmonizing with the flame pattern of the neck, which is made from exquisitely flamed Cedar. Inside the neck are two carbon fiber reinforcement rods, ensuring strength and stability. The headstock is adorned with a sandwich of two African Ebony layers, crowned by a two-piece Koa ornament, where its “V” flame highlights my brand’s emblem. German Wittner mechanical tuners provide precise and stable tuning, unaffected by temperature fluctuations.

The fingerboard is crafted from premium African Ebony, and the frets are made of nickel silver. The scale length is 655 mm. The rosette, meticulously designed in black and white, features a flamenco-inspired motif of  trefoil Mozarabic arches, visible from afar. The African Ebony bridge includes twelve string holes, optimizing the string angle at the bone bridge for increased volume. The bridge itself is uniquely designed, with two sections—one for trebles and one for basses—accentuated by a Koa inlay.

Built to meet the needs of the most discerning performers, La Chula offers exceptional playing comfort. The string height at the 12th fret is set at 2.25 mm for the treble and 2.5 mm for the bass. The nut, crafted from bone, measures 53 mm in width, with a 43 mm spacing between the 1st and 6th strings at the nut and 60 mm at the bridge. The body depth ranges from 87 mm at the bottom to 92 mm at the heel.

Finished with French shellac in an Old Gold tone, this formulation delivers a finish that is both rigid and elastic, offering superior abrasion resistance and requiring minimal maintenance. This guitar is a perfect blend of elegance, precision, and performance, embodying the essence of flamenco artistry.”
