Fidel is one of those unknown luthers silently performing their craft away from all the rush of the word outside of their workshops.
He is based in Granada (Spain) where he studied guitar-making at Oscar Muñoz.
He makes mainly flamenco guitars in an old-fashion style – a lot of hand work, few power tools.
His guitars have all the qualities of true luthiery instruments – sound quality, presence and originality.
His flamenco negra guitar we had recently had great punch and really full sound of treble strings. The guitar was very versatile – great for flamenco, classical and world music.
We also had an opportunity to check his blanca flamenco guitar – the sound was very “spanish” – exactly what you are expecting from blnaka guitar. It was also comfortable to play. We know it was purchased by a young flamenco guitar student from Poland who is very happy to have this handmade guitar.
We hope to get more flamenco guitars from Fidel as, without a doubt, he has great talent for luthiery.
