David Smrz (Salz Guitars) acoustic guitar – redwood and black oak

Unique custom acoustic guitar by a young Czech luthier David Smrz. Redwood top and blak oak body make it looks as avesome as it sounds.

Description

Handmade acoustic guitar made in Praue, Czech republic. This one includes some innovative bulding techniques like falcate braced top (credit to Trevor Gore) structured sides (credit to Jeremy Clark of 52 instrument co.), active back plate and bolt on – bolt off neck (which allows the instrument to be completely diassembled within 2 minutes)

This model is names “PS”. Sizewise close to the 00 (a little biger than a classical guitar). Due to its size it’s very comfortable to play.

 

David Smrz (Salz Guitars) PS acoustic guitar specification:

  • Top – Redwood
  • Back and sides – Fenland black oak (bog oak – 5300 years old), sides are structured – outer layer is Fenland black oak, core is kerfed Basswood and inner veneer is 0.6mm reclaimed Bog Oak from Charles bridge (one of the oldest bridges in Prague, Czech Republic)
  • Neck – one piece mahagony (headstock scarf jointed)
  • Fretboard,
  • Bridge – Fenland black oak
  • Binding – Fenland black oak
  • Headstock veneer – Fenland black oak
  • Rosette – Crescent moon style, made of recycled math book paper, coffee grounds and bound with brass.
  • Finish – Natural oil over epoxy base
  • Frets – EVO gold
  • Tuners – Schaller M6 with ebony buttons
  • Nut and saddle – Bone
