Gerardo Centonze (born 1986 in Taranto, Italy) is an Italian luthier specializing in the construction and restoration of plucked string instruments. He began his journey into luthiery as a self-taught maker and, in 2013, pursued formal studies at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan, where he graduated as a Maestro Liutaio in 2017.
Following his studies, he completed an apprenticeship with Master luthier Mirko Borghino, working primarily on archtop and acoustic guitars. In 2018, back in Milan, he started a long-term collaboration with Master Lorenzo Lippi, a formative period during which he deepened his focus on classical guitar construction, exploring different building approaches and refining his craftsmanship.
In the same year, Gerardo Centonze established his own workshop in Milan, where he builds classical guitars and restores historical instruments. Since 2021, he has participated as an exhibitor in several editions of the Roma Expo Guitar (REG). In 2023, in Granada, he was awarded 3rd Prize at the VI Marín Montero Guitar Building Competition in the classical guitar category.
