Juan Antonio Correa Marín is a young but already highly respected flamenco luthier, the grandson of the legendary Antonio Marín Montero of Granada. From an early age, he worked alongside his grandfather and uncles – José Marín Plazuelo and José González López – assisting in the workshop and absorbing all he could about the art of guitar making. After five years of intensive learning and refining his craft, he launched his own line of guitars, still operating from the same family workshop.
Juan Antonio continues the Granada school tradition, building instruments of outstanding tonal and construction quality. His guitars stylistically and acoustically reflect the influence of his master luthier relatives. Today, he is regarded as one of the most promising and representative young luthiers in Spain.
His instruments are known for their excellent balance between power and tonal richness. A perfect example is this 2016 flamenco guitar, crafted from carefully selected German spruce with straight, dense grain and top-quality cypress. The guitar delivers deep, powerful basses and bright, clear trebles, with perfect balance across the entire fingerboard. Medium string tension and optimally adjusted action ensure a high level of playing comfort.
The guitar remains in excellent condition, and the discreetly installed high-quality K&K Pure Classic pickup makes amplification easy and effective without compromising the instrument’s structure or tone.
